The Development of Our Facility

In 1994, NIYFC moved into the previous Lyons Toyota/Dodge dealership facility and began a long term remodeling project.  We broke the project into phases using volunteer labor and began renovating section by section as time and funding allowed. 

In 1994, we completed phase one which was necessary to gain occupancy.  This included restrooms, office space, and a small meeting room for ministry.

In 2000, we celebrated the completion of 6,000 square feet of interior meeting space featuring a large group meeting room, snack bar, game room, conference room, and office space.

Then in 2008, we launched a major capital campaign to expand interior meeting space by 4,000 square feet, as well as resurface the exterior and improve the parking lot and traffic flow.

This project was completed and paid in full in 2010.  The facility serves as the headquarters of North Iowa Youth For Christ and sees over 800 different students come through its doors each year.
